The Japanese oysters (Crassostrea gigas) are rich in vitamin B12, copper, zinc, iron, selenium and vitamin D. It is a very complete foodstuff with a high nutritional value, whose flavor is like tasting the “essence of the sea”.

The farming of our oysters begins with seeds from the best French breeders located in the Gulf of Morbihan and in the Marennes-Oléron basin, areas world-renowned for the quality of their oysters.

The location of our farm in the cold waters of the Atlantic in the Gulf of Cadiz is what determines the color and flavor of our product.

Our oysters’ feeding consists of marine plankton, which they ingest by filtrating up to 189 liters of water a day.

Marconil oysters have their own “terroir”, being the quality of the water, the salt and the nature of the plankton that provides them with their special and refined characteristics, thanks to the great currents in such a singular and unique environment in the world.

Thanks to the farming in the open sea, our oysters last longer alive, more than 10 days given they are kept in the appropriate conditions of maintenance and storage.

Due to the high quality of the water where they are grown, our oysters do not need purification. Weekly checks are conducted together with the government entities to guarantee its maximum quality.
